Terms of Service

1. What CrewLink is
CrewLink is an introduction platform for the Australian construction and trades industry. We help businesses and subcontractors find each other and record what it was like to work together.
We are not a party to any work you agree to. CrewLink is not an employer, not a labour-hire agency, and not a payment processor. Any contract, rate, scope, insurance, superannuation, tax or safety obligation is between you and the other party. You are responsible for satisfying yourself that whoever you engage is competent, licensed and insured.
2. What is free, and what is paid
CrewLink is free for workers, permanently. Creating a profile, adding photos of your work, browsing jobs and applying for them cost nothing, and we will not introduce a charge to workers for any of those things.
Companies pay to unlock a worker’s identity. You can browse a worker’s photos, trades, location, availability and reputation for nothing. Their legal name, email and phone are unlocked with a one-off payment per worker. There is no subscription. An unlock does not expire.
You are never charged for someone who came to you. If you already have an engagement with them through CrewLink, or they applied to a job you posted, their details are released free.
The current price is shown on the unlock button before you commit. We may change the price, but never for a purchase already made.
What you are buying
You are buying access to contact information the worker has provided. You are not buying an introduction, a reply, a placement, an availability guarantee, or any warranty that the person is suitable, licensed, insured or truthful. We do not verify contact details, and a worker may stop responding or take work elsewhere.
Refunds
Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded, and you are entitled to a remedy if a service is not supplied with due care and skill or is not fit for its stated purpose.
Beyond those rights:
- We will refund you if the contact details released were not the ones the worker supplied, if you were charged twice for the same worker, or if you were charged for someone whose details you were already entitled to see free.
- We will not refund simply because the worker did not reply, was unavailable, declined the work, or was not what you hoped. That is the risk of the introduction, and it is why the price is what it is rather than a placement fee.
To ask for a refund, email support@crewlink.au within 30 days of the charge, with the date and the worker’s handle. All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where it applies.
Payment between you and the people you work with
No wages or invoices move through CrewLink. Rates shown on the platform are indicative and you arrange payment directly with the other party. We hold no funds and offer no escrow, guarantee or dispute resolution over payment between members.
2A. Induction packs
A worker can record their own site details — emergency contact, ticket numbers, PPE sizes, and optionally allergies or medical conditions — and share them with a company they work with.
An induction pack is not a site induction. CrewLink does not verify anything in it, does not certify anybody as inducted, and does not create, hold or evidence any work health and safety record. If you receive a pack, your own WHS duties as a PCBU are entirely unchanged: you must still run your own induction, verify tickets yourself, and keep your own records.
A worker may revoke a share at any time, and shares may lapse on their own. If you need a durable record for compliance purposes, keep it in your own system.
3. Your account
- You must be 16 or over and working in or engaging the trades.
- Your information must be accurate. Misrepresenting your ABN, licences, tickets or insurance is grounds for immediate removal.
- One account per person or business. Keep your password secure.
- Your account type is fixed at signup and cannot be changed by you. Contact us if you need it changed.
4. Reviews
Reputation is the core of CrewLink, so the rules are strict.
- You can only review someone you have actually been engaged with on the platform. There are no anonymous or drive-by reviews.
- Your review stays hidden from the other party until they review you, or fourteen days pass. Neither of you can see the other’s until then.
- Once published, a review cannot be edited or deleted — by its author, by its subject, or by us outside moderation. If you are reviewed, you always have the right to reply publicly.
- Ratings below 3 require a written explanation. This is deliberate: a low rating carries weight, and the other party deserves to know why.
- Do not offer, solicit or threaten anything in exchange for a rating. Do not post personal information, abuse, or anything you know to be untrue.
5. Messaging
You can only message people you are connected with through a job. No unsolicited messaging, advertising or recruitment spam. You can block anyone at any time, which stops messages in both directions.
6. Moderation
Reported content is reviewed by a person. Reports do not automatically hide anything — that would let a group silence honest feedback. Every moderation decision is recorded with a reason and cannot be erased.
We may hide content or suspend an account that breaches these terms. We will tell you when we do.
7. Acceptable use
Do not:
- Post work you do not intend to fill, or misrepresent a role.
- Create fake accounts, or coordinate ratings with anyone.
- Scrape, resell or bulk-extract data from the platform.
- Attempt to access data that is not yours.
- Discriminate unlawfully in any listing or decision.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You grant us a licence to display it on the platform for the purpose of running the service. Reviews you write remain published even if you close your account, with your name detached — otherwise reputation could be erased at will.
9. Availability
We aim to keep CrewLink running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The service is provided “as is”.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss arising from work arranged through CrewLink, from the conduct or competence of another user, or from any inaccuracy in what another user has posted.
11. Ending your account
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
